He pointed out that in recent years, the number of geological disasters caused by extreme weather events has increased significantly, and the situation of the prevention and control of geological disasters has become increasingly severe across the country, especially the loess region is most sensitive to climate change. The project is of great significance for the prevention and control of geological disasters in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu and other major provinces in the loess region. It also said that departments and units related to natural disaster systems will fully support the research and development of the project and do a good job in project coordination.
