Academician Zhao Zhongxian, The Winner of The National Highest Science and Technology Award and a Well-Known Superconducting Scientist, is a Guest At The "Hundred Years Lanzhou University · Famous Experts Forum"

  On the morning of July 31, Zhao Zhongxian, the winner of the State Supreme Science and Technology Award and a famous superconductor scientist and academician of the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited by Lanzhou University to the lecture hall of "Hundred Years Lanzhou University · Famous Experts Forum". He delivered an academic report entitled "Introduction to superconductor Application and Growth in Responsibility" to Lanzhou University teachers and students. Academician Yan Chunhua, President of Lanzhou University and Zheng Xiaojing, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the lecture. Representatives of teachers and students from the College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics attended the lecture. The conference was presided over by Professor Zhou Youhe, dean of institute of Superconducting Mechanics, Lanzhou University.

  Zhao Zhongxian academician as open one of the pioneers of HTS research in China and leading scientists, his first in our country is put forward to seek high temperature superconductor, for the superconducting development of our country in 50 years, under the condition of backward from the start, and pursued, implements made an indelible contribution to among the world's highest, has twice won the first prize in the national natural science. 

  In addition, Zhao also talked about some constraints on current superconductivity research in the application of high-field superconducting magnets, including the research of superconductivity mechanics. He encouraged the teachers and students present to emancipate their minds, break the fixed thinking, and dare to tackle the key technologies that are "stuck in the neck". He believed that with the unremitting efforts of young scientists and engineers, China could eventually surpass its peers and lead the development of the industry in this field. Academician Zhao Zhongxian also gave full recognition to the research of superconducting mechanics in Lanzhou University. He pointed out that the research team led by Professor Zhou Youhe has done very good work in the research of superconducting mechanics and is an important one in the world, and expected to establish "The Chinese school of superconducting mechanics". Academician Zhao finally pointed out that Lanzhou University has cultivated outstanding talents and made outstanding contributions to national construction and scientific and technological development in the past 100 years. He wished that Lanzhou University, standing at the starting point of its century-old development, would make new contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and human civilization.

  In the end, President Yan Chunhua expressed his sincere gratitude to Academician Zhao Zhongxian for his care and support for the development of Lanzhou University and his wonderful presentation to the teachers and students. He pointed out that Academician Zhao Zhongxian, as an outstanding scientist, has made significant contributions to the development of national science and technology strategy.Academician Zhao Zhongxian has been teaching for several decades, focusing on bringing up his younger generation, creating a relaxed and harmonious research environment, and pouring his warmth and emotion into every student.  Academician Zhao's report is interesting with allusions, witty remarks, and profound academic accumulation, international vision and interdisciplinary knowledge integration. He hope that Academician Zhao Zhongxian can come to Lan University often to bring more lessons and guidance to teachers and students.

  Before the presentation, Academician Zhao Zhongxian and his delegation visited the laboratory of superconducting mechanics in the Institute of Superconducting Mechanics, and discussed the performance characteristics of the international first electro-magnetic-thermo-mechanical experimental scientific device with full background field independently developed by Lanzhou University.
