On the morning of Jul. 17, 2019, Laolanggou Geological Disaster Monitoring and Early Warning Research Station jointly established by College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of Lanzhou University, Gansu Institute of Engineering Geology, and Lanzhou Resources & Environment Voc-Tech College held a grand unveiling ceremony on Gaolan Mountain in Chengguan District of Lanzhou City. Zhao Ai, deputy director of Gansu Geology and Minerals Bureau, Zheng Shaozhong, party secretary and president of Lanzhou Resources & Environment Voc-Tech College, Li Xiaoli, party secretary of College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of Lanzhou University, Zhang Fanyu, vice dean of College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of Lanzhou University, and Bai Gexue, director of Engineering Geology Research Institute of Gansu Geology and Minerals Bureau, and other relevant leaders attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Li Xiaoli, on behalf of College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of Lanzhou University, expressed warm congratulations on the establishment of Laolanggou Geological Disaster Monitoring and Early Warning Research Station.
Vice Dean Zhang Fanyu also hopes to make use of the typicality, representativeness and demonstration of Laolanggou Geological Disaster Monitoring and Early Warning Research Station to further strengthen the in-depth cooperation between the college and its sister universities and industry organizations, promote the implementation of theoretical research in colleges and universities, provide theoretical basis for loess landslide disaster monitoring and early warning, and make the research station a model for serving disaster prevention and mitigation and a model for "production, study and research" in colleges and universities.
Also present at the unveiling ceremony were Feng Desheng, director of the property management center of Gansu Geology and Minerals Bureau, Hou Yunlong, vice director of Gansu Institute of Engineering Geology, Jing Hong, president of Gansu Institute of Emergency Management, Gao Lei, general party branch secretary and director of Department of Geology and Jewelry of Lanzhou Resources & Environment Voc-Tech College, Huang Yuanzhi, deputy director of the science and technology department of Lanzhou Resources & Environment Voc-Tech College, and more than 60 representatives of staff and teachers from Gansu Institute of Engineering Geology, Lanzhou Resources & Environment Voc-Tech College.
