The 15th International Engineering Mechanics Competition for College Students was held at National Jiaotong University of Belarus in Gomel, Belarus from April 15th to 18th. More than 150 college students from 39 colleges and universities of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Turkmenistan and China participated in the competition. Three students from the College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of Lanzhou University took part in the competition and won one third prize of the team competition, one third prize of the 'Brainstorm' team competition, and two third prize of the individual competition.
The 15th International Engineering Mechanics Competition for College Students is divided into individual competition, team competition and “Brainstorm” team competition. Led by Professor Wang Xingzhe, Professor Yong Huadong and Associate Professor Zhou Jun, three undergraduates of our college majored in mechanics participated in this international engineering mechanics competition. In the individual competition, Zhang Yuanpeng and Zhang Fengshun won the third prize; in the team competition, the team of Lanzhou University won the third prize; in the “Brainstorm” team competition, the team of Lanzhou University also won the third prize.
During the two-month preparation, the College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics attached great importance to this international competition, and the Academic Affairs Office of the school also provided active support. Under the guidance of instructors, the participating students carefully summarized relevant professional knowledge and conducted a comprehensive training from all aspects. In the competition, they fully demonstrated the charming of students of Lanzhou University.
